Soon after that, Cyril and Norman traveled to London's war office to find information about her uncle's whereabouts and left a note to Megsie and Celia to help stop Isabel from selling the farm.

When Isabel was reading the contract, Celia distracted her and Phil by screaming and saying she saw a mouse, and signaled to Megsie to hide the pen. However, Phil had more pens in his coat, but before Isabel could finish signing the contract, an enemy plane accidentally dropped a bomb in the field, which Celia identified as an un-exploded bomb which could destroy the harvest.
